Technical Standards for Underground Storm Water Chambers

1. Specific design standards in terms of materials, size, holding capacity and flow through process for underground storm water chambers shall be provided by manufacturer.

2. Calculate extent of design storm rain fall to be stored in underground chambers, provide pass through access for exceptional rain events.  

3. Site storm water chambers under site open spaces to facilitate cleaning and maintenance. Storm water chambers can be sited under parking lots if necessary but access to each chamber will be needed with a removable surface plate. Site chambers near buildings when disconnecting roof top runs off into an underground irrigation system.

4. Underground storm water chambers can be used in conjunction with a site irrigation system that will sprinkle the collected water on to lawns and landscape beds. All water is to be filtered prior to introduction to the underground sprinkler system.

5. Do not remove existing treed areas to install storm water chambers.
