Street Tree Planting Area
Technical Standards for Street Tree Planting Areas 
Minimum Length- length of property line facing a public street.
Minimum Width- shall be a minimum of ten (10) feet.
Minimum Area- length times width of planting area. This area may be used for water percolation as well as tree & shrub growth.
Planting Area Character- level graded planting area with slightly concave planting depressions for irrigation and heavy hardwood mulch rings.
Minimum Planting Area- per Class A tree shall be two hundred (200) square feet, Class B tree shall be one hundred (100) square feet, Class C tree shall be fifty (50) square feet.
General Planting Standard- three (3) Class A or six (6) Class B trees will be placed within the street tree planting area every one hundred fifty (150) linear feet of street frontage.
Spacing- Class A trees forty (40) feet on center, Class B trees twenty (20) feet on center, Class C trees fifteen (15) feet on center.
Planting Configuration- linear, spaced pursuant to street side elements such as signs, lighting poles, underground line, drains etc.
Minimum Tree Size- Class A thirty (30) gallon, 3” caliper, 10-12’ tall, Class B trees twenty-five (25) gallon, 2” caliper, 8-10’ tall, multi-trunk or standard. Class C trees shall be 4-6” tall at time of planting.
Other- trees shall be staked with approved staking kit with ‘alligator bag’ attached first ninety (90) days. Tip pruning to shape after planting.
